The new year has rung in good news for India’s export community, with the commerce ministry announcing the launch of Brand India campaign in a bid to boost exports. The umbrella initiative in the initial stage would focus on promoting Indian exports in specific sectors and aims to help buyers/sellers expand to new markets and connect with each other through digital channels.
Moreover, in a bid to tackle the supply chain debacle in India, the government may put forth a proposal to extend tax and other incentives to attract local players to establish shipping lines across the country. Exporters believe this will primarily bring down costs and allow India to take the much-required lead in ramping container manufacturing facilities.
