More purchasing capacity for larger orders
A Florida-based semiconductor and electronic-component distributor was approved for a $500,000 Vendor Financing line from Drip Capital. The line is intended to support larger customer orders while keeping more of the business’s operating cash available for other priorities.
The business sources hard-to-find components from vendors in Asia for large manufacturers and original equipment manufacturers in the US. Alongside finding the right parts, its work includes arranging testing before components move on to customers.
Vendor payments can come before testing is complete
Vendors can require upfront payment before components have completed testing. That puts cash into an order while the business is still verifying the parts. Customers typically pay on net-30 terms, extending the time between the initial vendor payment and collection.
As order sizes increase, more working capital is needed across those stages. The business wanted additional purchasing capacity without committing as much of its own cash to each order.
Financing that supports the purchasing cycle
With Vendor Financing, Drip Capital pays vendors directly and the business repays Drip Capital under the agreed terms. For this distributor, the approved line is intended to help cover vendor payments on larger orders while preserving cash for other parts of the business.
Room to take on more
The aim is to give the distributor more flexibility to pursue larger customer orders while components move through testing and customer payments remain outstanding.
